Introduction

Bhadariya Navami is renowned among Hindus for its auspicious events, such as marriages, griha pravesh (housewarming), annaprashan (first cereal-eating ceremony of an infant), and kuan pujan (ceremony to celebrate the arrival of a newborn boy).

However, Bhadariya Navami is also known as Bhadalya Navami, Bhadali Navami, Bhaadariya Navami, Kandarp Navami, AshadaShukla Navami, Badariya Navami in different regions and dialects of the country.

Significance of Bhadariya Navami

Moreover, this auspicious day holds profound significance in Hindu culture. As discussed in my previous blog on Chaturmas, there are four months when Lord Vishnu goes into yog nidra (deep slumber). And, this period starts from Devshayani Ekadashi. In addition to, after that Lord Vishnu directly wakes up from yogic sleep with the end of Chaturmas on Dev uthani Ekadashi. After that, auspicious events and all other auspicious works resume.

Date and tithi of Bhadariya Navami

Although, it falls on ninth day (Navami) of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha mas of Hindu Panchang.

Apparently, it will be celebrated on July 15, 2024. The tithi will start at 5:26 PM on July 14, 2024 and will end at 7:19 PM on July 15, 2024.

What is Gupt Navratri related too Bhadariya Navami?

Do you know there are Gupt Navratri apart from Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri.

Infact, it is also Navami of gupt Navratri of Hindu religion. Further, Gupt Navratri are celebrated twice in the year in the month of Magha and Ashadha of Hindu Panchang. Additionally, these Navratris are mostly worshipped by tantric followers. Gupt Navratri are celebrated to worship the 10 Maha vidhya of Goddess Durga.

What is abhuj Muhurat?

Certainly, Hinduism is the art of living with devotion, faith and trust. Furthermore, it is deeply rooted in rich traditions, vibrant rituals, and a profound spiritual heritage. Festivals in Hinduism are not just celebrations; they are sacred occasions that honor deities, commemorate significant events and reflect the cyclical nature of life and time.

Likewise, married life should commence with the blessings of Lord Vishnu. As told above, hindu god Shri Hari Vishnu goes for a deep slumber in Chaturmas. Hence, to get his blessings in abundance, people tie maritla knot before the yog nidra.

Abhuj Muhurat refers to a favorable time throughout the entire day when all periods (pahars) are considered auspicious and fortunate for any significant life events such as marriage, havan (sacred fire ritual), housewarming, and other positive beginnings.

As we all know, Hindu marriages are not confined to a single day. They are celebrated over a span of two to three days. Thus, the celebrations often begin on this auspicious day and may conclude by Devshayani Ekadashi. Hence, it is considered the most auspicious date immediate before Devshayani Ekadashi for auspicious works.

Just like Basant Panchami, Phoolera Dooj, Akshaya Tritiya, Bhadariya Navami is also considered most auspicious day to start the important life events.

Conclusion

At the end, I would like to focus on the importance of tithi and days in Hindu Panchang to celebrate life with great fun and flee. Bhadariya Navami is the day, where one need not to go to astrologer to ask for shubh muhurat.
