e) Do you know Dev Uthani Ekadashi is the day on which there are maximum weddings in India? Because of this propitious day, ancient texts suggests it as unsuja saya (means any time of the day is auspicious, no need to go for shubh muhurat on the day).

Legends of Dev Uthani Ekadashi

Meanwhile, there is a popular story behind this ekadashi. Once Demon King Bali performed Yagna to capture the power of all the three Lokas. Lord Vishnu took the awatar of Vamana. Also as a bhiksha, Vaman Dev asked for 3 yards of land from king Bali. Ironically, king granted him the wish. As a result, Shri Vishnu in form of Vamana measured whole Earth in his first step and in second step, he measured the heavens. On third step he asked king Bali- What to measure with my third step?

On this king Bali replied to Lord Vishnu-Please keep your foot over my head. As a result Lord Vishnu was impressed and gave a boon to king Bali that he will stay with him forever in patalok.

Thus, this is a reason why Lord Vishnu resides in patalok from Dev Shayani Ekadashi to the Dev Uthani ekadashi. However, Goddess Lakshmi tied raksha sutra on the wrist of king Bali on Dev Uthani Ekadashi. And she asked Lord Vishnu to come back to his Vaikunth Dham (abode of Shri Hari Vishnu).

What is Tulsi Vivah?

Tulsi vivah is a religious ritual where sacred plant tulsi is married to Shaligram. Shaligram is a stone shaped form of Lord Vishnu. Vshnu purana tells us that a pious lady and devotee of Lord Vishnu named Vrinda was blessed by Lord Vishnu to be his wife in his stone formed Shaligram incaration. Certainly, it is believed that on Dwadashi of shukla paksha of kartik maas, they got married on the Earth.

Significance of Tulsi Vivah

Tulsi Vivah holds great significance in Hinduism. It symbolises divine union of purity, devotion and faith. Apparently, tulsi has medicinal, spiritual and cultural significance which represents feminine energy. Whereas, Lord Vishnu is the preserver of the universe represents divine masculine energy. Amalgamation of these two energies symbolises the balance and harmony of life on Earth.

Hence, tulsi vivah represents the bond that balance the universe.

Astrological Remedies on Tulsi Vivah

Infact if you are the one who is looking forward to find your soul mate in coming days. Then, tulsi vivah is an opportunity for you to get marital bliss in abundance.

a) Firstly, tulsi vivah is a great opportunity to impress Lord Vishnu. Probably if you have bad effect of Jupiter in your horoscope, then you should mix turmeric in water and offer this water to Tulsi. Surely you will get the favourable conditions.

However in northern India, it is a ritual to donate seven-seven items to seven girls in their marriage ceremony during their saat fere (seven rounds around the holy fire at the time of marriage). Even it has religious touch also, as people consider Tulsi as their daughter in tulsi vivah and give away the necessary items to the girls during her fere (part of kanyadaan). Luckily, I have been witnessing this unconditional and non judgemental act of devotion since my childhood.

e) Finally, one can not miss a golden chance of getting blissful and prosperous life in the month of Kartik. Ancient Hindu text suggests if a married woman perform Tulsi Sewa for whole Kartik month, she will be lucky to get good luck and opulence in abundance.
