Papmochini Ekadashi is on 5th April, 2024. As per Hindu Panchang, this Ekadashi falls on 11th day of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra mas. Also, the date will start at 4:14 PM on 4th April and end at 1:28 PM on 5th April , 2024.

Moreover, one cannot deny the fact that one who perform puja and vrat on Papmochini Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi shower all their blessings and love onto him. Papmochini Ekadashi is a very auspicious day as it holds great significance for all the Vishnu lovers. It is a sacred day to get rid of all your bad deeds just by performing the worship and observing fast on this day.

However, even if someone indulges in all the worldly pleasures, and observes this fast goes to Vaikuntha (the abode of Shri Vishnu). Likewise, Papmochini Ekadashi destroys all the sins of a man to ashes.

However, by observing this fast, one supposedly receives the blessing equivalent to donating thousands of cows. Additionally, this fast is believed to bestow numerous virtues, including spiritual, mental and intellectual strength. Fasting is said to help eliminate negativity from our minds, control our senses and bring us closer to the divine by chanting sacred verses and hymns.

Although, I believe that when you focus on positive things, your surroundings become more positive, and you come across more opportunities with a positive outlook towards the problems. Whenever I observe a fast, I gain a sense of control over my monkey mind. Fasting helps me focus on the calmer side of life instead of indulging in thoughts of satisfying my hunger.

Dos and Don’ts

Firstly, wake up early and have your bathing rituals. Then after, place the idol over a clean top with yellow coloured cloth on it.

Secondly, offer flowers, kumkum, akshat, diya to Lord Vishnu along with reciting the shloka Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaye Namah.

Then after, read Vishnu Sahastranama.

Lastly, indulge in kirtan and bhajan.

Always refrain yourself from eating rice, grains, cereals on this day. Also, stay away from alcohol and non veg items.

• Chant Vishnu Mantra on tulsi Mata for 108 times.
• Light a diya with cow ghee infront of tulsi in the evening and circumambulate around it 11 times. Furthermore, it helps you to remove all the future obstacles and problems.
• In addition, one should offer the garland made of 21 yellow flowers to Lord Vishnu to get wealthier.
• As per astrologer’s, one should donate yellow lentil(chana daal), banana, yellow flowers and besan laddu to needy people on Papamochini Ekadashi. It is helpful to get rid of any kind of debt.
• Infact, Papmochini Ekadashi is falling on Friday, to impress Shri Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi, prepare a kheer made with kesar, offer as bhog to deity. This will attract prosperity in abundance.
